{Day 5 - Going for Traditions}
Today was a long day for me, I attended Traditions.
The main problem that has been troubling me though, was Cheryl (my room mate). She finally gave in to her itchy throat into developing into a high fever. Since 530 am, Penny and Si Ming(my other apartment mates) came in and out, in and out of the room. Downing various Herbal Tea and other stuff, she finally got sponged by Si Ming(SM) .. I thought since both of them were taking care of her, I could shed some responsibility and take a little bit more sleep ..
Anyways, we(5 of us + Geralding and Lee Min) ran out at 645 and was early for the bus. Bus A took us all the way into Disney World (for the first time) and stopped us at the Magic Kingdom's West Clock where we walked to the Disney University.
In the Disney University, we were given a "class time" ie at 830am, and we went for our class with Carmen, Linda and Lynn .. It was very exciting to see the walls that were (I think) wallpapered (didn't feel like paint). It is so very beautiful !
However, most people fell asleep in the class and Ms Wang (our teacher-in-charge) had to contact the Disney people to arrange another class for Cheryl and to get someone to take her to the doctor if she wanted to go there.
So, we had many lessons and breaks and phototaking sessions with Geraldine, (as she said my camera like became hers?!) But I'm fine. I met up with one of my supervisors there, Zaly (prounounced as Sally) who can speak Spanish (it's on her name tag) who showed me what I would be wearing and what time to report. Sadly, I have work on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Later that day, we arranged with Ms Wang to go to the Magic Kingdom which was quite nearby to take a group photo. So, she took her private transport(arranged by Disney as she was unable to take the bus with us) while we took a Disney bus over. Just before that, the group just realised, that one of the girls was MISSING !! Sing Yee was missing for 24 hours !! And no one in her group (My group is Peifen - the year 2 girl, Cheryl and Hidayah) realised she was missing until hmmm 8 hours later -.-
Nevertheless, some of us went over to the Magic Kingdom to take a group shot, then Geraldine, Lee Min, Hidayah and I headed home. The first two to take care of Cheryl while Hidayah and I were looking out for shoes. However, for this semester, the shoe mobile won't be coming, thus I must go to Wal Mart soon to look for shoes. Note: Cheryl attempted to leave the house alone to go to the doctor's ! Luckily, we spotted her and the gals brought her over to Walsgreen that is out of campus across the road.
Then, Geraldine and Lee Min were like cooking for her and all ..
I was forced to sleep in the living room after the doctor diagnosed her with Influenza and gave her a 7 day MC, including a US$500 doctor's fee. And I'll be on my sofa for another 7 days.
Much later, Geraldine and Lee Min were monkeying around with their horribly bitter Herbal Tea (to each other, luckily) and Geraldine literally forced Lee Min to down it.
When they left for their respective rooms, I fell asleep on the couch, knowing it would be a long day.
Oh, I did my laundry for the first time, it was terrible cuz my clothes weren't totally dry yet. Sigh ..
P/S Sing Yee was found later, she was late so she took the 9am class instead of the 830am class with us. Don't worry about it, though Penny nearly called her parents at 430 to inform her parents that she was missing.

{Day 4 - Going to the bank}
Finally, a day off, Geraldine, Lee Min, Hidayah, Cheryl and I decided to go to the VW school there to confirm our course registration, and as usual our Ms Geraldine got into trouble (as they didn't sign her in initially). Cheryl and I are in the same class for our classes every Tuesdays. Hidayah on Wednesday with Jonathan and Geraldine and Lee Min on Thursdays.
We needed to go to the bank, the Vista Credit Federal Union, that takes $3 from us every month unless we have $1000 accumulated in our accounts, which is .. Hard.
Geraldine, Lee Min, Hidayah, Yi Wen, Jonathan, Sing Yee, Cheryl and I went together after meeting up at Lee Min's place, 2708. Luckily we weren't late and soon we reached there, where the group before us just missed the bus (we were on).
Initially, we were being turned away by the bank as we didn't have our social security numbers but soon they were swayed by something or someone or ?? to help us. So 4 counters opened to help us 8. So everything was done by around 1pm, when our bus would come at 1315. (Here, the buses are very dumb, take so long to come, stop only a while).
Chatted a bit, then we took flight, hoping to head to Walsgreen. However, this bus driver missed the Walsgreen stop altogether and we landed up at Wal Mart -.- After searching for a long, long time, we found food in Sonic. Where we learnt to be smart, however Geraldine and Lee Min still couldn't finish their food. Hidayah, Cheryl and I only left the popcorn chicken. (Cheryl had started coughing already I remember)
After heading our separate ways, we shopped like crazy and I finally found my pair of sunglasses. We thought the bus had left but luckily Cheryl went to check and found that .. The bus was still at the bay, so 5 of us grabbed our bags and RAN LIKE THE WIND !!!
End.

{Day 3 - My 2nd day}
We went to the Social Security office today to get our Social Security numbers. They also brought us to an Outlet Mall where Xiaoshi and Peifen nearly got left behind cause they went shopping and didn't even grab a bite.
Then we signed more forms and had a talk by Ms Penelope Pynes about culture shock. Based on her definition, we have lots of culture shock 'cause we don't know what to do and what is the "correct" way of doing things.
Then, we took pictures and with the UNCG shirt and baseball cap. Then, we went to Wal Mart again.
Donna missed you at 6:55 AM~

{Day 2 - My day 1}
Copied and pasted from the paper mostly.
We went to the Commons Clubhouse where there was an ..
Itinerary overview, photocopies, Social Security application, medical form & DHS prsentation. Housing discussions with price management and college and international housing community codes and paid $72 assessment fee. Then we walked around VW to settle the Disney Look, and get our Network ID. Later I had lunch with class 14, they nearly forgot to call me along. -.-
After lunch, we got lost, especially since Ms Wang also forgot where we were to meet. Luckily, we found the place and we sat and chatted. They brought us next to Chatham Square to meet with Bud - our teacher. So we will be "taking 4 modules" since we have to do our Disney homework and do our UNCG work.
After finishing our talk, we headed to Wal Mart to seek our groceries out.

{Day -1 - The day before I left}
I had a BBQ session with many friends. Photos will be updated later.
I'm still lazy to update the photos, please wait ..
My day started out packing my last minute stuff for my trip to Orlando, FL.
Then, Ivan came over and accompanied me to Tampines Mall to buy more crap for the trip. We also went to Starbucks for the first time.
It was around 1630, and so we decided to take the MRT back to meet Jia.
Jia was already waiting at the MRT and blur blur didn't see us.
3 of us headed to the NTUC supermarket where we started buying food. Antony joined us shortly with him trying to find us, but he was stuck with his back facing us.
Since Lay Peng was going to meet Rajesh and come together, we decided to finish our purchases and take a cab over to Pasir Ris Park.
We located the BBQ pit and lamented over the rundown state of it, and attempted to flood an army of ants that was seriously disturbing a seat. We failed terribly. And we started waiting for Lay Peng and Rajesh ..
Wait and wait and wait .. They came after Yong Jin, Wee Kiat and Kok Sin came and left to borrow skates .. (Where Kiat actually borrowed two left shoes, accidentally.)
Then, they came, finally.
Much later, did my ex 1S29 class came - Sheila, Isma, Rahman, and Wei Cai; Fishy-Andy; Samuel and Adrian; David and Lip Hang.
We ate and we took many many pictures and when everyone left, David and Adrian taught Ivan how to use honey to burn stuff ..
The BBQ ended with Yu Jia, Ant, Lay Peng, Ivan and I heading to my house to rest before heading to the airport.

FW: Visit to Disney
Hi Pheck Hoon,
I apologize for not responding sooner.
When you arrive with the students, please tell the students to put on their Mickey stickers
and everyone go to the baggage claim area. A representative from our College and International
Programs office will meet all of you there. They may not be waiting there so please stay there
until they appear. In case of a problem, please call 321-436-0425. This is Barbara Ezzagrati's
telephone and she coordinates the arrives but she may not be at the airport.
Pheck Hoon, we have arranged for you to take the Disney Magical Express so the Disney
Representative will direct you to Disney Magical Express after you retrieve your luggage.
The students will take different transportation to go to the housing complex.
David Horvath, telephone 407-828-4504, and Jeff Tasset at 407-934-7579 are two recruiters that
will meet with you during your visit. We will arrange your itinerary and hopefully either send a copy to
you by e-mail or leave a copy at the Front Desk of Pop Century.
I think it would be best that you go through all the activities with the students. We will also arrange
a meeting with the Education Department as well as with one of College & International Programs
Liaison to discuss their role. We will give you time to enjoy the Theme Parks as well!
In the housing unit that the students live there is a telephone. It would be best for the
students' to give their parents this number first as an emergency contact to reach them. The other
number would be Security at our Vista Way complex. They are on duty 24 hours and with the time
difference this is probably the best number: 407-827-7744. Sometimes the students get cell phones while
they are here as well to contact their family.
If there is an issue, the family can contact the school and then you can contact me but because I will
be traveling outside of the United States I may not be the best person.
Have safe journey!

Hi Pheck Hoon,
I am sorry I have not had a chance to get back with you regarding your hotel reservation.
I was on vacation last week. My husband and I went on a cruise in the Caribbean. It was
very relaxing.
We have you booked at the Pop Century Resort, reservation number: 361863469046.
Check in on August 27 and check out on September 2. The rate is $45 US dollars per night.
You will have to pay this in either cash or U.S. Travelers checques to us. Any other expenses
would be on your hotel bill and you can pay that with a credit card.
I will not be in Orlando during the students arrival. I will be on a recruitment trip to South
America. I will let you know who will be your contact here at Disney closer to the time of your trip.
The students will be transported to the housing complex from the airport. For yourself, you can
take the Disney Magical Express bus. I would need your flight details for arrival and departure to make
the reservation with Disney Magical Express. Please include: airline, airline number, departure city,
departure time from the city, and arrival time in Orlando. I would need the same information for your
return flight out of Orlando.
Hope you have a wonderful time at Disney during your visit!

I will be at UA counter to assist in case of problems.
Appreciate if you could disseminate the attached informations to your students.
